Address Fields contain many unique features for managing address-type data.  First, international input formats support most regions globally. Second, each element of the address is stored as a separate Field Part, meaning that you can search and filter based on just the state or city for example. Alternatively, you can use Actions to interact with just one or more of the Fields parts. Use the Google Maps Action to generate directions or route multiple addresses. Use a Webservice Action to interact with shipping services, find gps coordinates, or conduct radius searches.
